Follow up Pipelines and deals
Pipelines and deals
Track each sale as a card on a board that moves from New Lead to Won.
What it does
A pipeline is a board with columns called stages. A deal is a card on the board. It has a title, a contact, a value, a stage, an owner and notes.
You move a deal by dragging it to the next stage. Totals at the top show how much is in the pipeline and what you may win.
Where to find it
Pipelines
How to use it
- Open Pipelines. If you have none, press Create Pipeline and give it a name. The default stages, from New Lead to Won, are made for you.
- Press Add Deal. Fill in the title, choose the contact, the stage, the value and the currency. You can add an expected close date, assign a teammate and write notes.
- You can also press Add deal inside a chat. The deal is linked to that contact automatically.
- Drag a deal to another stage as the sale moves forward.
- Open a deal and press Mark as Won or Mark as Lost. You can reopen it later.
- Press Manage Pipeline to rename stages, add stages, reorder them by dragging, change colours, or delete the pipeline.
Example for a business
An interior designer
An interior designer makes a pipeline with the stages Enquiry, Site visit, Quote sent and Won. Each client conversation becomes a deal. The designer drags a deal to Quote sent after sending the estimate, and marks it Won when the client pays the advance.
Good to know
- The currency for new deals is set in Settings, Deals & currency. Only admins can change it. Existing deals keep the currency they were saved with.
- Total Deals counts every deal that is not marked Lost. Weighted Value is each open deal’s value times the chance of its stage. Each figure has an explanation when you hover over it.
- You cannot delete a stage that still has deals. Move or delete those deals first.
- Deleting a pipeline archives all its deals and cannot be undone.
- Automations can create a deal for you with the Create Deal step.
