Orders and money Payments with Razorpay
Payments with Razorpay
Connect your own Razorpay account so customers can pay in the chat and the money goes straight to you.
What it does
WAGenie makes a payment link through your Razorpay account. The customer pays with UPI, a card or netbanking, and Razorpay tells WAGenie, which then marks the order Paid.
The money goes to your own Razorpay account. WAGenie does not hold it.

How to use it
- Open Settings and choose Payments. Only the Owner can change these settings.
- Under Razorpay, enter your Key ID and Key secret from your Razorpay dashboard. Press Test connection. It tells you if the keys are test or live.
- Press Save keys.
- Under Webhook, press Make the webhook secret and copy it now. It is shown only once.
- In your Razorpay dashboard open Account and Settings, then Webhooks. Press Add New Webhook, paste the webhook address and the secret, tick the events listed on the screen, and save.
- Pay one test payment link. The webhook light turns to Connected when events arrive and the secret matches.
- Open Settings, Orders to choose the order number prefix and how long a payment link lasts: 30 minutes, 1 hour or 24 hours.
Example for a business
A gift shop
The owner of a gift shop saves test keys first and pays a link with a test payment. Everything works, so they replace the keys with live ones, make a new webhook secret and paste it into Razorpay. The first real customer payment turns an order to Paid within seconds.
Good to know
- Without the webhook, orders do not turn Paid. Check the status light on this page.
- Test mode moves no real money.
- Keys are stored encrypted and only the Owner can change them. Never share them in a chat or an email.
- A new webhook secret replaces the old one. Paste it into Razorpay too.
- Razorpay charges its own fee on each payment. Check your Razorpay pricing.
- Razorpay has its own limits for your account as well as the ones you set in WAGenie.
